Boneshaker and Vintique

Bobby and Benny from Vintique (website coming soon) asked me to design them a new logo for their vintage parts business...

I first met Benny when I delivered the sign I painted for him on the way up to Scotland for the Indian rally last year. He's one of life's good guys!

The sign hangs outside his workshop. As the building is at the end of a track, it didn't need to be double-sided, so I had a bit of fun with the back. Enamel on steel.

Burning Your House Down

One of this week's jobs has been to design a new T shirt for the Jim Jones Revue...
I fancied doing something a bit Man With the Golden Arm-ish. But with molotov cocktails.

British Ironworks

Quaffmeister entrusted me with his bit of aluminium and got me to doodle all over it. He used it as a back plate for the numberplate on his Enfield bobber project...

The design of the engraving is loosely based on this logo I did for his blog. I wasn't sure about the other version (below) at the time, but I quite like it now...

Secret Folkestone

I have illustrated many, many maps of Folkestone. Don't ask me why - for some reason once I did the first one I kept being asked to do more. Treasure maps, Children's Festival maps, Orient Express tourist maps, Easter egg hunt maps, even maps for public art installations.

But so far, this is my favourite map - it's a bit of daftness really. Made for Strange Cargo for a project collecting people's recollections of the town for a 'people's guidebook'. It highlights some of the legends and stories of Folkestone from popular culture. Yes, that is Dot Cotton.

Black Baller

This little panel is for Nick Clements' Enfield. Nick is a brilliant photographer and one of the contributors to Men's File magazine.

Bob Log III

Lock up your daughters, wives, mothers etc... The masked avenger is coming back to the UK for two gigs - Brighton on 14th Dec (at Hector's House) and London on the 15th (at The Luminaire). Anyone who hasn't already checked him out should mend their ways.

Only a week to go! I've never been before, but it promises to be a cool weekend. Check it out here... I will be working there over the weekend, 'live painting' a skate deck for the expo.

I designed a couple of T shirts for them for this year, based on old small ads and packaging that they loved... Looking forward to seeing how they've come out!

Glasnost comes to Folkestone

I was commissioned by arts company Strange Cargo to design a series of posters for a project they are running as part of the Folkestone Arts Triennial in 2011. The project seeks to gather information from the public about their town, hence the populist Russian style!

 I designed some beer mats to try and encourage people in pubs to get talking about their memories:
